The refill treadmill, and why it happens
Prescriptions rarely start on the same day. One began in January after a checkup, another in March, a third when a specialist added it in June. Each one runs on its own 30-day clock, so refills come due scattered across the month. Take five medications and you can easily be dealing with the pharmacy five separate times every month, or worse, discovering on a Sunday night that one bottle is empty while the others are half full.
None of that is your fault. It is just how the timing falls when nobody coordinates it. Med sync is the coordination.
How med sync works
- You pick one day a month. Say, the first Tuesday. That becomes your pharmacy day.
- The pharmacy aligns everything once. Prescriptions that are ahead of schedule get a short fill so that every medication comes due on your chosen day. This one-time alignment is the whole trick.
- From then on, everything renews together. Every month, all your refills are prepared at the same time. One pickup at the drive-through, or one free delivery to your door.
The pharmacy also reviews the list each month before filling, which creates a natural checkpoint: dose changes get caught, discontinued medications get removed, and questions get asked before anything is filled, not after.
What it costs
